There is so much talent in the Sacramento Hip-Hop scene that has yet to be discovered and recognized by major record labels or distributors. But out of that scene is an up and coming solo hip-hop artist by the name of MahtieBush who has been making a name for himself throughout Northern California and Nevada.MahtieBush’s sound and delivery is mostly compared to Xzibit, Ludacris, and Erick Sermon of EPMD. He is not only talented in the art of emceeing but is also a well-known and respected B-Boy (Break Dancer).

During his career, MahtieBush has shared the stage with major artists ranging from Nas, Keith Murray, Heltah Skeltah(Boot Camp Click), Chino XL, The Living Legends, Mistah F.A.B., Tash (The Alkaholiks), Dead Prez, Little Brother, Zion-I, Planet Asia, Prince Po (Organized Konfusion), and Black Sheep. As a member of The Alumni, MahieBush has done shows in Tahiti and throughout Northern Cali, performing with artists like DJ Revolution. MahtieBush has also hosted numerous B-Boy and emcee battles, as well as other events not centered on music.

MahtieBush released his debut solo album “Backpackramento” (Available at iTunes and all Sacramento area Dimple Stores) in January 2010 and has spent most of 2010 touring throughout the western part of the United States.  Tour stops this year have included Salt Lake City, UT., Boise, ID., San Francisco, CA., Los Angeles, CA., San Diego, CA., Woodland, CA., Sacramento, CA. and Victoria B.C. (Canada).  In addition to touring, MahtieBush has started working on his next Mixtape titled “Bush Flair” to be released late 2010, Ep with local emcee Floe Montana “Grumpy Old Men” and his next full length solo album “Child’s Play” which will feature collaborations with Planet Asia, Chino Xl and Cannabis.   This will add to his growing catalog which includes “The Darkest Hour Mixtapes Vol.1 & 2″, as well as the highly controversial “Sac Hates Hip Hop”.  He has been featured on every local Hip-Hop station in Sacramento, including 103.5 The Bomb, 102.5 KSFM, 90.3 KDVS, and co-hosted The Super Smash Brothers radio show on the now-defunct 96.5 KNOZ. MahtieBush has also been featured in the July 2008 Issue of The Source Magazine page 31 in The Source Independent Hip-Hop Network.

MahtieBush is definitely a force to be reckoned with, not only in the Northern California scene but in the Hip-Hop industry as well.
